Joanna Runyon

Hello! My name is Joanna Runyon, and I am teaching first grade this year. I have been involved with the school since 2019 in a variety of roles ranging from a parent, a volunteer on PAPO, and now a teacher. Being involved in this school is one of the reasons that I went back to earn my Master's in Elementary Teaching to get my Minnesota teaching license. Phoenix Academy is built around a strong community of staff and family that I am grateful to be a part of. I have a corporate background and was a stay at home parent for nearly 10 years until going back to college. I have 4 daughters enrolled at Phoenix Academy ranging from kindergarten to 5th grade. As a family, we enjoy the quiet country life, swimming, and hanging out with our 3 dogs. I love all things related to gardening, and in January, I begin planning and dreaming about what I will plant come May.
